If you get there 15 minutes before they open, you usually get seats right away. Parking is scarce though
Yes
No reservations either. Go there, wait in line, and enjoy some of the best ramen in Socal
The food is great. This is probably a place to go to if you want to treat yourself. I'd definitely recommend.
We arrived at this place for lunch. we heard about this spot from a lot of people. Well, we were not disappointed. The staff members welcomed us with a smile and we had an excellent feeling. The food was just great. We loved this spot very much and we will visit this place again. Keep it up.
I admire this spot! They provide excellent meals, their menu is nice, The chef in that place is a professional, I love a lot eating all their dishes. The food is consistently good, the attitude towards the customers is efficient. I go often to this place and I not even once was discontended. I recommend this place.
One of my favorite ramen spots! Love the spicy miso ramen. Also 6 stars if I could for the slotted spoon
A favorite spot but last time the noodles were over cooked. Also I like to order what I want like at most restaurants. They couldn't fulfill my simple request of grilling my chasu about style before adding it to my ramen. Not that hard at all to accommodate.
OMG! I almost lament writing a review because I don't want this place even more crowded than it already is! But I want to call attention to great places to go! THIS IS ONE IS THOSE PLACES.BEST RAMEN I'VE EVER HAD!That's saying a lot! They make their noodles by hand, they make their broths from scratch, their chashu pork is sooooo tender and tasty! This is an amazing place.... Yes it has a line, there's a reason, just wait, they flip tables fast, you'll get in, you'll love the cute atmosphere, you'll slurp happiness, and then you'll waddle out like everyone else! YUM!
I have eaten at Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai a number of times and every time I eat there, the ramen is splendid. I would be careful with the more spicier soups, but other than that, I highly recommend.
Definitely a place worth stopping by, the food is excellent and fresh, the costs are reasonable and it is always well organized in here. Keep it up.
Great ramen! Great service as well. Get there early or use yelp to get in the waiting list.
I’ve been here twice and it was extremely satisfying. Excellent service, delicious food, fair prices. It can get pretty busy (pre-corona) but the staff was quick to acknowledge new arrivals, and there’s a nearby trinket store you can peruse while waiting for your table.
Soup broth is Too Salty and Noodles are more like Instant Noodle. Friendly environment and cozy. Other than that Not thing good. To me the one in Mitsuwa Super Market is Best.
Great spot in Orange County to try nice ramen as well as gyozas. Everything in small dishes. Not expensive and very tasty.
Best texture of Ramen I've experienced from San Francisco to San Diego! Best spicy miso/bone broth! I've sampled a lot of Ramen places this is hands down the best one so far! Do yourself a favor and automatically order extra noodles! The noodle texture and quality is 100% the best! We also shared a plate of juicy chicken, which is very good, but not the real reason you come here. If you have to choose between adding gyoza or chicken as an appetizer, and ordering extra noodles because you can't eat it all, choose the noodles! It's that good!
Amazing as always and although there is often a wait on say... a Friday night, meeting great new people is always an option while you wait!! ;) Also Rollin Deep next door makes a great ice cream if you need while you wait. Yes! I've heard grown ups are allowed to eat their dessert first 😜 Ice cream pictured is the evil stuff from next door ;)
The food and service were beyond my expectations. I absolutely enjoyed the ambience of this spot. Fantastic place to take the family out for dinner.
Loved the texture of the noodles. A bit on the salty side for my taste, but overall delish!
Certainly a place worth stopping over, the food is awesome and fresh, the costs are convenient and it is consistently neat there. Kudos.
Great food. I took my girlfriend tonight and was very satisfied with the ramen. Surprised that this place is stuck in a small strip mall. My only gripe is how small it is and how loud it gets. Felt a little rushed to order. I get it though. It's so small that they need you to get in and get out. I wish this place well. Well enough that they can move to a bigger location. Wanted to have a nice dinner and have a nice conversation with my love, but this isn't that type of place. Go for a quick bite of Ramen goodness. Don't expect to take a date, relax and enjoy the meal though. Use their Yelp wait-list. It's small and even at 6pm on Friday there was a short wait. Parking is bad. Super small spots and it was full. If you have a big truck or SUV, don't bring it!
Small parking lot but I've been able to find parking even on a yesterday! You can also park at the elementary school in the back during non-work hours (not sure if this is legal or will get you a parking ticket).Make sure you sign in on Yelp to avoid waiting for too long! They don't have a lot of tables so be expected to wait for a long time. My table of 4 wait for roughly 1.5 hours before we got seated. For ramen in the Irvine area, Kitakata is relatively cheap. Their signature ramen is just $8.99 with minimal toppings. They do have a large selection for you to choose as add-ons if you would like.Their ramen broth is pretty standard, however I did really like their noodle. It's not the thin straight style but rather the thicker, chewier version that gives the ramen a bit more texture and carry the broth a bit better. I really liked it!
Great food #MOODY360TV
The ramen was amazing. I would almost call it other worldly!!
I absolutely liked their food and service, excellent location to my residence. The staff members are always welcoming. Highly recommended.
The Akamaru ramen is great! Dont opt for the miso though unless you prefer a saltier taste as the original is pretty good.
The long wait is worth it. Great service the the soups are delicious. Tip: Ask for the spicy on the side... i love spicy but the first time I went it was just over my threshold. This time it was perfect.
Visited here for lunch. Tried Chicken Karage on Rice here. It was pretty good. Service was good. This is Ramen place, there were lot of Ramen choices on the menu. They have multiple locations in southern California and also in New York.
Delicious!!!!!! Best ramen I have ever had. The wait can be long, but is worth it. My boyfriend and I just put our name in and grab a drink at the bar in the same center while we wait. The ramen is so tasty and we enjoy the popcorn chicken as well. It is the best and most juicy popcorn we have ever had.
The best Ramen! I ate it three days in a row and it was exceptional each time. The waitlist can get long at dinner time, so sign up early! Highly recommend!
This was my first time coming to KitaKata (though I'm a hiro nori regular because of their vegan ramen!). We waitlisted in advance so they were able to seat us immediately and their service was great! Our waiter got us water right away and was very attentive as well as the rest of the staff (whom brought me an extra bowl to share). The chicken bowl wasn't too big but it was SO good! The chicken was juicy but tender, some of the best I've had for sure. Served over sticky rice and cabbage, this little bowl was the perfect combination :)The ramen was pretty good but not as good for me because I don't eat red meat and wasn't able to enjoy the pork. The noodles reminded me almost of instant noodles but they were still tasty. Overall, I'd definitely come back here for the fried chicken but might go elsewhere for the ramen.
I go with my wife to this great restaurant quite often! This is my favorite restaurant to to have a good dinner. I visit this spot many times. The cooking is fantastic, the workers are courteous and the charge is good. I enjoy being in this place to have a rich meal.
Very yummy broth and reasonable prices. Staff is warm and attentive. Would give 5 but the parking sucks.
Nice place good service. I didnt care for the broth of the soup. Noodles were overcooked. Some of the pieces of pork were all fat.
Excellent lunch option but they are too busy. The service might use some improvement, especially things like refill, extra napkins etc. The kitchen staff is excellent. Getting food on time, consistent and flavorful!
Enjoyed my first meal here tonight. I hope it will not be my last. Flavor bursting in every bite of every dish. Attentive and precise service combined with welcoming atmosphere. Excellent meal. If you live in the area, I'm jealous. This would be my go to several times a month. Made the turnaround flight worth it.Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai - Costa Mesa
Ramen tastes good even with to go cup
Best vegetarian ramen I have had. Actually had vegetables! The veggies came on the side. After adding my extra noodles there was barely room in my bowl. Super nice!
Joined Yelp wait-list 15 minutes before we arrived Sunday afternoon at 3:30. Yelp said 30-45 minute wait. Arrived to the restaurant and waited another 30 minutes in the rain. Waitress came out saying she was making a last call for our party. We hadn't received our text yet. We actually got it as we sat down. It's a very small restaurant, quaint, with traditional Japanese music playing. Our waitress was nice but not happy. We got hot tea to shake off the cold weather and some gyoza (yummy!). I got the Kitakata Ramen, husband & oldest daughter got Chashu Ramen & youngest daughter got juicy fried chicken bowl. Everything was so delicious! The broth was great, not fatty or too salty. I really loved it!!! The juicy chicken was really great too! I will definitely be back! Loved it!!
Despite this pandemic, their chewy noodles does not disappoint. I'm not a fan of getting noodles to go because it's never the same when you reheat it at home, but Kitakata's handmade noodles keep their structure. The broth is very flavorful and there is enough to make you satisfied. Their service is very fast as well. Even though they give you an estimated pick up time, I've gone in earlier and my order was ready. What's ever better is that they give you instructions on how to reheat their soups and noodles. They really thought of everything to bring their ramen noodle experience at home as authentic as possible.
Excellent ramen. The broth was flavourful, the pork melted in the mouth. The noodles were also tasty. Highly recommend this place simply on their ramen. But it doesn't stop there, the juicy fried chicken was juicy and perfectly cooked. The sauce, incredible.Lastly, the service was stellar. Definitely give this place a shot if you are in the area looking for some good food.
Excellent food. Great service and is very busy for dinner, but well worth the wait. I love the spicy noodles. The best ramen joint around, unless you want to travel to Japan for your ramen.
The challenge isn't really good it is... it's getting in the problem... they are always packed, but worth the wait!
Fantastic spot to get some food when in a rush. The service is prompt, prices are fair, excellent ambience. Keep up the good work
Love this place! The wait is long but well worth it!
The staff served my food fast and the ramen was delicious
The food is outstandingly good, but ... The waiting que outside is really long and they left one table unoccupied for 15 minutes and another one for 20 minutes. Guest were complaining about it but they did not care. We won't come back. What a pitty. As more successful one gets, as less customer care.
Everything about this restaurant is superb. Incredible food and good service. I would give it 6 stars if I could. Worth the weekend wait times. I only wish there was more parking in their plaza.
